1. Play to Win! – Do it all together!  Stay connected and talk often with the people on your direct Sales team.  That means your Upline, Downline and even people on the Sidelines. Also plug in to the Company calls and podcasts.  Playing with others will move you forward.
2. Set Goals and really try to reach them.  Keep track of your efforts.  Record ever step that you take.  
3. No negative conversations.  Shh. None!
4. Step UP! – Be accountable!  Find somebody that will check in on you and make sure that you are taking action.
5. Stay in Positive Motion!  Once you have achieved success, don’t stop.  Keep going and do it again
6. Don’t let the tough parts of the business slow you down.  If something falls apart.  Pick up the pieces and try something else.
 dream bigNumber six is where most people get stuck.  It’s easy to listen to the nay sayer when something bad happens.  Dream stealers are pretty powerful – if your willing to listen.  Dream Stealers are people that make you think that your dreams can not come true.  They make you question yourself and what you are doing.  You feel depleted after being around them for even a short amount of time.

 

Dream Believers are people that believe in you so much that they have dreams for you even before you have them for yourself. These people excite you and you learn new things just being around them a short amount of time.

So, what are the odds that any one of us will make our Dreams a Reality? Working from home sounds easy, but the reality is hours of time, hard work, persistence through adversity, and effort. NUMBER 1: Obviously a lot of people are looking for what you’ve got and most are looking online.   They search for key words that are specific to the company and the products you sell.  For example;  Let’s say you are with a health and wellness company.  You have a SPECIFIC product that people know by name and when they want it, they search for that name, right?  Absolutely!  So, how do you get found for that specific word, title, name or result?  There’s an easy answer, get found for those specialized words.  Where?  That’s easy too… EVERYWHERE!  If you can find a place online like a directory, blog or other public space, POST.

NUMBER 3:  Don’t wait for the phone to ring. You have to Make Calls.  Make many calls.  The more the better.  No calls = not a lot of new bushiness. Many calls = lots of new business.  🙂

Yes, cold calling does require some warm fuzzy thoughts.  You’ve got to be strong and ready for some possible rejection, but don’t let the fear of failure scare you away from this necessary business step.  Just do it.  The reality is, most calls will result in a new business connection for you.  You will be making friends in the industry.  Think of it as just an another way to network.  Start by searching the internet for people in Direct Sales that might be interested in what you’ve got.  Try staring with local people.

Once you’ve got a few contacts, try theses example scripts to get yoo started:

I saw that you are advertising online and I wanted to reach out and learn more about your business.

Wow, that’s great, because [explain how FSR relates to them or how your current company complements what they are already doing.].

Great! Well, let me share something that I found that’s helping me grow my business. Have you considered adding some online advertising to your marketing mix?

Then, send them your link to the FSR blog and follow up with a phone call to see  if they have any questions.  The basic rule of thumb is to follow up with 3 emails and 3 calls in 3 days and then again wit 1 email and 1 call in 3 weeks and 3 months later.

How to handle any negative response:

People generally don’t say no outright. They will give a response to explain why they are saying no.  Here are a few example that can help you turn those negatives into positives with LOCAL contacts:

No thanks, I’m happy with what I have

It’s great that you have ____. I recently spoke with another ____ rep and your company has a lot to offer. You know something, we should get together. How about next Thursday at 1pm.

I’m not interested

Well Mr. ____, a lot of reps from from your company had the same reaction you did when I first called — before they had a chance to see how FindSalesRep will benefit there business. We should get together. How about next Thursday at 1pm.

I’m too busy

______, the only reason I was calling was to set an appointment. Would next Thursday at 1pm be okay?

Send me some more info

Okay, great and then we should just get together? How about next Thursday at 1pm?

Any other response

Well that’s okay; let’s get together anyway.

Leaving a message

Always leave a friendly message.  Let them know that you are interested in networking, collaborating and sharing ideas.

These scripts will also work for your primary business.  When calling about your primary business, your goal is referral exchange.  Let them right away that you are trying to take their focus away from what they are already working to build.  Then ask if they would be interested in collaborating and exchanging referrals.  Tell them that you will send people with an interest in what they are doing if they will consider doing the same for you.

*NOTE:  When I (Gabby) was with one of the most poplar Direct Sales companies and became one of the top recruiters in the world, this is how I made some of my closest friends in direct sales and how I attracted one of my biggest builders to join my team.

People are attracted to great leadership.

One hard push over a weekend does not make a sustainable business, but a good bout of spring cleaning can help you kick off a healthy business that will last for months and even years to come!

Step 1: Get Your Mind Right

What’s your overall goal? And…  more importantly, WHY are you going to work at this every day to meet your goal? Just striving for  a certain number in your bank account won’t inspire you to greatness, but if reaching that number means you can achieve a lifelong goal,  gain more freedom or have richer family life, you’re a lot more likely to keep doing the work that it will take to get there. Once you’ve figured out your “why,” make sure you keep it front of mind. A vision board is a great way to positively inspire yourself to achieve your personal breakthrough. It can be a dry erase board, a cork board, or a piece of poster board—just make sure it’s visible and tangible. Put inspiring quotes, photos, and any other images that will keep you focused on taking positive action.

Step 2: Know What You Are Putting In and Getting Out

A healthy business is all about risk AND reward, but financial gurus agree that what you put in to your business accounts for about 75 to 80 percent of your success. That means it’s time to clean out the those efforts that are not producing results and clean up your shopping list. Stopping waisting your time and your money.  What you spend to run your business can not exceed what you earning for very long.  That’s why choosing  the right way’s to promote your business is crucial.  Remember, what you do to promote your business fuels your success!

Give your business the kind of respect and provide it with the fuel it needs to perform at its peak. Make sure you’re getting exposure either face to face at events, fairs and or expos or on social media and don’t forget a healthy amount of advertising. Cut out empty ventures that consistently waste your time and energy. They call it practice because it is intended to be done over and over again over time.  Not just in short spurts, erratically, when you are in the mood. So, find ways of connecting with people that are in need or are looking for what you’ve got.  Look for things that fits into your schedule, fulfill you, and that you don’t keep making excuses to cancel.  Find ways of producing prospect that you will actually do and DO them.

Step 4: Articulate and SHARE Your Goals

One of the best ways to reach your goals is to make them SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely). “make more money” or “grow your business” are goals that are too vague. How do you know if you’ve succeeded? Once you’ve identified the specific business goals that you want to achieve, make sure they’re SMART.  Then… it’s time to share them. Though it may be tempting to keep your journey to yourself until you’ve completed it, successful entrepreneurs say you should share early and often.  You’re only keeping them a secret if they are not sincere.

11 Things You Can Do To Achieve More Today

It can be overwhelming.  Being your own boss will offer you moments of self doubt, crushing stress and frustration.  BUT…  but there’s also excitement, adventures, new possibilities and a whole lot of clapping and smiling when you achieve success.

You may not be able to quit your job today or follow every direct sales lead that comes your way, but every day contains within it countless opportunities, all waiting to see what you will do.

Theses are the choices that will make all the difference in your business.  They are the things that will determine your current level of success and your likelihood of you achieving your goals in the future.

So, WHAT IF?  What if you make some changes today and stick to them?  WHAT IF?  

Sometimes even the smallest shift in thinking or doing can create the biggest opportunities.

To get started:

1. Stop thinking and stopping there.  Getting a good idea is NOT enough. Write down all of your ideas, right when you have them.  Then, put them on your calendar and make them happen.

2. Challenge your beliefs about what you can and can’t do. You are better than you think you are.  Yeah, you really are that good!

3. Challenge your ideas about how things work. Sometimes when you decide how things should be you limit your ability to see how they CAN BE.  Take a look at how others ‘do the business’ and see which things you think you could try to adopt in to your day to day business plans.

4. Have a vision, a dream, a goal.  Write down your goals.  “I will… by this date…”  Then create a vision board and put on it those things that will be visible you when you achieve your goals.  (Directions for creating a vision board can be found in the search on this blog.)

5. Look for opportunities in every failure.  Avoid the victim mentality, everything that happens, whether to-you or by-you is an opportunity. Yes, EVERYTHING!  Change your attitude and start LOOKING for the opportunity in EVERYTHING.

6. Remove something from your life that doesn’t serve you.  Make room for something better and new.   These can be small things, like a cluttered work space or big things like a business partner that is holding you back.  Either way, take the time to evaluate those things that you let in to your business and make room for new things that will encourage growth.

7. Commit to something.  You know those things that you always say you’ll do but you never seem to start start—start them.  Go, right now, GO!  Write it on your calendar and figure out how to make it happen.  Take the first step right now.

8. DON’T think about what you DON’t want. DO think about what you DO want. Shift your energy from complaining, worrying and waisting time to doing, taking action and achieving.

9. Replace negative thoughts with positive ones. Positive energy creates positive results.  Enough said.

10. Self Improvement is a sign of growth and intelligence.  Anytime you improve your habits, you pave the path for personal excellence.

11. Forgive your self and others.  Let go of grudges. Removing barrier opens doors.

How do you target the ideal customer?

To successfully introduce new customers to you company and the products you offer,  it’s essential to focus exclusively on the prospects you believe are most likely to purchase from you.

WHO are they?  We asked a few of our favorite independent direct sales reps:

-Your ideal customer may be prospects who are currently buying something similar and will appreciate the additional features your new product or service provides.

-Your best prospects have a perceived need for what you offer, can afford to buy it and have demonstrated a willingness to do so–probably by purchasing from your competition. Bear in mind, it’s always easier to fill a need than to create one.

Share the benefits and features that your prospective customers will value most.  The bottom line is that working with you and your company should be unique and meet the needs and desires of your best prospects.  Show then how you can make that happen.

How?

Will you market online, via catalog or by archery target? Generally,  a multi-channel marketing tactic will help you achieve the greatest success.

Why?

Customers who can shop when and however they like tend to spend more and shop more often. Suppose your strategy is to market a weight loss product to people who can’t afford gym memberships or high-priced home equipment. You might choose traditional face to face/home party direct marketing plus a website as your primary channels, and then online ads and e-mail solicitations that link to your website.  These are all great ideas, but no one action alone is going to give you the results that you are looking for.  Aim to combined all of them.

When?

For startup entrepreneurs, the need to constantly tinker with the business never ends. “You have always got to be thinking about how you can tweak whatever you have to make it even better.”

If you feel like you have too much going on, stop and just focus on just one at a time. Try spending time on one project per day and see how much you accomplish.

Direct selling is certainly a classic sales method and given the reach of the Internet in the business world, the approach to direct selling has a larger reach than ever before.

TOPIC: The debate is on!!! Coffee shop or online blog? Door to door or email contact list? Typical meeting or online chat? How’s a poor marketer to decide? It used to be that “Face Time” with prospects through all stages of a sales cycle was the only way. It was was tried and true, but with all the gadgets used today, “Shopper” no longer seem to value the antiquated ritual.  It seems that “Face Time” may no longer be necessary at all.

More often than not, sales go through – online without any direct contact at all. Independent Sales reps can now use the Web to conduct product demonstrations, hold multi-person sales trending topics thurspresentations, all kinds of things that help them connect with their audience.

Here’s just an example:
For many top recruiters, email has replaced the phone as a primary method of reaching out to contact new prospective customers for the first time. The traditionalist would say this selling tactic is bad even though it brings down the cost of doing business and takes less time, but sales don’t lie. TODAY’S TOP SELLERS IN EVERY DIRECT SALES COMPANY are the ones with a strong online presence and a long email contact list.

PROBLEM: There is one pit fall that online marketers face -ISOLATION- working in isolation tends to make reps less productive than if they work in groups, even small ones, where they can feed off each others momentum.

SOLUTION: Form a team that can share sales strategies. The best ones are social clubs for entrepreneurs and sales professionals that to help them learn how to get good at sales and to have fun doing it. There should be no sales “gurus” or “experts” in these groups. Let every leader show off and share their smart. Ambitious people will have a lot to share and will help the whole group work hard to reach their goals. Having FUN is what will keep the motivation engine revving.

Because of your wild ways, things don’t always go smoothly for you, but they’re definitely ALWAYS interesting.

Are you one of these people?  Are you the one who ALWAYS get’s the job done – no matter what.  Do you challenge the norm?   Do you have original opinions that move a discussion forward?  Do you seek out solutions even if it means bending the rules – within reason?  Do you act with tenacity?  Are you ALWAYS the one in the room withe the most determination?
