6 Tips to Help You Stay in Positive Motion
1. Play to Win! – Do it all together!  Stay connected and talk often with the people on your direct Sales team.  That means your Upline, Downline and even people on the Sidelines. Also plug in to the Company calls and podcasts.  Playing with others will move you forward.
2. Set Goals and really try to reach them.  Keep track of your efforts.  Record ever step that you take.
3. No negative conversations.  Shh. None!
4. Step UP! – Be accountable!  Find somebody that will check in on you and make sure that you are taking action.
5. Stay in Positive Motion!  Once you have achieved success, don’t stop.  Keep going and do it again
6. Don’t let the tough parts of the business slow you down.  If something falls apart.  Pick up the pieces and try something else.
dream bigNumber six is where most people get stuck.  It’s easy to listen to the nay sayer when something bad happens.  Dream stealers are pretty powerful – if your willing to listen.  Dream Stealers are people that make you think that your dreams can not come true.  They make you question yourself and what you are doing.  You feel depleted after being around them for even a short amount of time.

Dream Believers are people that believe in you so much that they have dreams for you even before you have them for yourself. These people excite you and you learn new things just being around them a short amount of time.

So, what are the odds that any one of us will make our Dreams a Reality? Working from home sounds easy, but the reality is hours of time, hard work, persistence through adversity, and effort. It’s a lot of ups and downs. What makes people want to keep on with building their business? It could be the $ but for most of us it’s the reward and satisfaction of seeing people like ourselves, pull themselves up and achieve their dreams too! Living your dream means that you get to help others live their dreams!

Be a Dream Believer and watch your dreams come true!  May all Your Dreams come true!!!

Direct selling is certainly a classic sales method and given the reach of the Internet in the business world, the approach to direct selling has a larger reach than ever before.

TOPIC: The debate is on!!! Coffee shop or online blog? Door to door or email contact list? Typical meeting or online chat? How’s a poor marketer to decide? It used to be that “Face Time” with prospects through all stages of a sales cycle was the only way. It was was tried and true, but with all the gadgets used today, “Shopper” no longer seem to value the antiquated ritual.  It seems that “Face Time” may no longer be necessary at all.

More often than not, sales go through – online without any direct contact at all. Independent Sales reps can now use the Web to conduct product demonstrations, hold multi-person sales trending topics thurspresentations, all kinds of things that help them connect with their audience.

Here’s just an example:
For many top recruiters, email has replaced the phone as a primary method of reaching out to contact new prospective customers for the first time. The traditionalist would say this selling tactic is bad even though it brings down the cost of doing business and takes less time, but sales don’t lie. TODAY’S TOP SELLERS IN EVERY DIRECT SALES COMPANY are the ones with a strong online presence and a long email contact list.

PROBLEM: There is one pit fall that online marketers face -ISOLATION- working in isolation tends to make reps less productive than if they work in groups, even small ones, where they can feed off each others momentum.

SOLUTION: Form a team that can share sales strategies. The best ones are social clubs for entrepreneurs and sales professionals that to help them learn how to get good at sales and to have fun doing it. There should be no sales “gurus” or “experts” in these groups. Let every leader show off and share their smart. Ambitious people will have a lot to share and will help the whole group work hard to reach their goals. Having FUN is what will keep the motivation engine revving.

 POLL:

What do YOU spend more time doing?

FACE TIME OR ONLINE MARKETING

5 Steps to Solving Your Big and Little Business Problems

Posted on January 25, 2013. Filed under: Direct Sales Tips, Getting the Job Done, How To Do The Business, Problem Solving, Success n Network Marketing, Tips for your business | Tags: , , , , , |

We have a Golden Doodle.

Because he is part Golden Retriever, he is loyal to our family, but the Poodle in him makes him a bit of a scaredy cat.  He barks insistently when the door bell rings and when the visitor is let in, he hides behind the legs of closest adult and is as quiet as can be.

He loves us but he is a funny dog.

ben joey
Last night, he came to me crying.  I have 3 boys, so when I hear crying in the middle of the night, it gets me up quick.  As a Mom, my first instinct was to think “SICK!” So, I rushed for the back door to let him out to do his thing, but he did not follow me.  Instead, he vigilantly cried in my bathroom.  My first though,’was he asking to use the tolet?’   Nope, he was telling me that something was behind the door.  I tried to call him away, but he would not budge.  He just shot me a look that said, “HELP ME!”   It was in that moment that I realized that there was a problem behind the door and that he had gotten me and brought me to the door to help him solve the problem.

Being a smart wife, I called for my husband, woke him up, brought him to the bathroom and I asked him to solve the problem behind the door.  Was it was a snake, a scorpion or worse, what if it was spider?  He was the right person to help solve the problem.   Grudgingly, he opened his eyes, pulled away the covers, came to the door and scooted me and the dog back.   From the safety of the bedroom, the dog and I watched as he pulled back the door to reveal THE PROBLEM.  The one and one half inch family hamster stared back at my husband.  Lost in the bathroom, he did not know whether to run left or right so he froze and waited for my husband to make a move.  Our hero, returned the scared the hamster to his cage, pet the dog on the head and told me to get back in bed.

I am not sure if the dog was embarrassed or not, but I was grateful!  I am so proud that I have a dog that is smart enough to get help when he does not know what to do and I am so happy that I have husband that is brave and is not afraid to push back the door  – even when I don’t think I can.  I know that these two attributes are the KEYS to solving ANY big or little 1 and 1/2 inch problem.

To solve your PROBLEMS IN BUSINESS follow these 5 STEPS:

1.  Even if you are embarrassed to admit you have a problem, admit it.

2. Be smart enough to get help solving problems.  People will assume you know what you are doing most of the time, so asking for help is important.

3. Support others and try to help them solve their problems.

4. If you don’t know how to solve a problem or you are too scared to take action admit it, find someone braver than you and GET HELP.

5. Be grateful to those that do help you along the way.  Their support will get you through all of the big and small problems in your business.

Who Really Wins In Direct Sales

Posted on January 11, 2013. Filed under: All Company Reviews: Breaking MLM, Attitude, Build It Make It Create It, direct Sales Statistics, Getting the Job Done, Make Money Fast, Making It In Net Work Marketing, New Marketers, Success n Network Marketing, What Kind of Network Marketer are You? | Tags: , , , , , , |

Who are the REAL Direct Sales Winners?

Certainly the company owners are successful   Or not…  many Direct Sales companies fail in the first 2 years because of poor planning,  but for those that do survive the ‘terrible’ two’s’, yes, their planning pays off and they reap the rewards of residual income.  They also will have brought in a few key ‘master distributor’ or ‘founders’.  These folk, if they stuck with it through the launch stage, will be starting to get pay back in full.  So, yup, they are winners.

Who else wins it in Direct Sales?  Is there any Real Money left to be made , if you weren’t there right in the beginning?

ABSOLUTELY!

It used to be that companies reserved about 50% of their total payout for the top 2% , but recently, companies have been taking a new approach to the age old problem of retention   Early payouts for top recruiters are now attracting big hitters to jump in and they are not just jumping from company to company.  Todays newbies are coming from other industries.  The economy may be partly to blame.  With fewer high-end sales positions available, many uniquely quailed sales reps have had to think less traditional and have turned to Direct Sales.  These rising stars are WINNING BIG, with companies offering new bonus as big as $3,000 to $300,000 in your first 3 months.

That kind of cash is attractive and professional sales reps are taking notice.  Direct Sales stereo types are a thing of the past.  Todays top earners, the REAL Winners are Reps with ‘play to win-win’ philosophy.

These are the  new rain maker‘Rainmakers’!

They respect, and always try to satisfy, the best interests of their prospects.  Knowing that a win for the client means a win for them too. They are also extremely dedicated to becoming top performers.  They have often times been in the position before and they have a won’t settle attitude, exhibiting the hustle, passion, and intensity it takes to achieve what only the elite achieve.

Winner Do.  They just do.  They do the work.  They look for opportunity and they make things happen.  Anyone can be a Direct Sales Winner.  Companies have heard the request and are now rewarding ‘The New Kid”.  Getting some of the action has never been easier!  It’s a great time for Direct Sales!

What Makes Getting The Job Done Doable

Posted on June 23, 2012. Filed under: Getting the Job Done | Tags: , , , , , , , |

Have you though about what makes your work ‘work’?  What makes ‘Getting the Job Done’ Doable? Company owners have and those that mesh science with management have had a dramatic effect on output over  the years!

The Science of Management was first introduced in the 1800s by an economist, Adam Smith. He was working to increase the productivity at a factory that made pins, and by separating each task he was able to increase output from 20 pins per employee per day to a whopping 4,800 pins combined.  More that doubling their combined out put.

Technically, Scientific Management is the “management of physical efficiency and individual workers” with the aim of increasing out put, but there may be more to it.  Early theorist had some success developing specialized individual works talents – the assembly line idea. Insert Henry Ford and McDonald’s here.  Both took the idea of specialized workers talents to the extreme and turned a huge profit.  Note though that each has trouble keeping a happy, dedicated, committed work force and that many of the jobs studies for this research have sense been replaced by non- emotional robots or other mechanical devices.

Later, an experiment was performed by a man named Taylor who studied loading strips of iron into an open railroad car. By redesigning and breaking down the workers movements Taylor managed to improve the employee’s efficiency and loading from 12.5 long tons a day to 47.5 long tons a day.  Once again the assembly line was proven to be highly effective, but Taylor also noted that workers attitude affected their over all out put and that most were motivated by money.  This lead to the idea of ‘fair days wage based on a fair days work’, which simply means that employees  should be paid extra according to their level of output and paid bonuses for reaching targets.

Taylor’s idea was then furthered studied by Douglas McGregor in the 1960s.  He came up with two theories to explain the effect of workers attidude on their work.

Theory X – Employee’s role is to support the management and implement idea toward company goals.

  • People have an inherent dislike for work and will avoid it whenever possible.
  • People must be coerced, controlled, directed, or threatened with punishment in order to get them to achieve the organizational objectives.
  • People prefer to be directed, do not want responsibility, and have little or no ambition.
  • People seek security above all else.

Theory Y- Management’s role is to develop the potential in employees and help them to release that potential towards common goals.

  • Work is as natural as play and rest.
  • People will exercise self-direction if they are committed to the objectives (they are NOT lazy).
  • Commitment to objectives is a function of the rewards associated with their achievement.
  • People learn to accept and seek responsibility.
  • Creativity, ingenuity, and imagination are widely distributed among the population. People are capable of using these abilities to solve an organizational problem.
  • People have potential.

McGregor suggested management could use either Theory  to motivate employees, but better results would be gained by the use of Theory Y, rather than Theory X.  Most employees agree!

Enter Direct Sales!  The Direct Sales business model has been around since the beginning of time, but not until the 1900’s did business owners attempt to harness the power of “Social Networking’ and word of moth advertising and boy did they get more that they asked for!  One of the biggest success stories of Scientific Management in the 21st century has been in the Directs Sales Industry.  This successful business model has capitalized on the Scientific Management Theories and spread their products successfully worldwide by utilizing the bottom up ideas put forward in Theory Y.

How did they do it?  The Dawn of a New Age in Scientific Management developed the idea or ‘group work’, an idea that states that women worker better working in groups.  Rocket Science right?  lol  And there was a lot of support from the psychological community.  Theorist Abraham Maslow studied The Hierarchy of Needs.  He postulated that because individuals want to feel valued in a company and want to have opportunities to move up the managerial ladder that they would work hard in an environment where they felt like they were part of a team and they were in control of their ultimate success.  His theories also took in to account that social status and a sense of achievement are bigger motivators and that pay alone does not determine worker output.

Continued study of Human Relations and Interactions later in the latter half of the 1900’s found that Group Work could be successful as it added some social aspects to work and hence motivated staff. One of the strongest examples of this form of management is found in Direct Sales  where companies use groups to produce sales and each sale can be traced back to that one group or individual and hence all individuals are bearing a responsibility for total sales increasing motivation and personal success.

Direct Sales is experiencing a huge growth spurt as employees look for environments that fulfill their needs. In 2001, Direct Sales was Largest Sales Force in all of America.  Nearly 16 million people are involved in direct selling in the United States.  That’s a whole lot of happy workers!

Through successful implementation of Scientific Management Theory it is safe to say that in organizations such as AMWAY, AVON and Tupperware are the wave of the future!  Scientific Management plays an important role and will do so for the foreseeable future. Rising Entrepreneurs are attracted to markets where consumer demands are met with a smiling, happy work force!  The Modern Work Force will not be joining an assembly line anywhere and business models that depend on this structure will soon be a thing of the past.  Todays workers demand more control for more output. Talented, professional business men women are looking for creative, innovative, results oriented environments to ‘Show What They Are Made Of’.

Direct Sales is just that and more!
